Back From Summer

Summer is finally over and it's time to dust off the blog and start a new issue of Hazel Harper. I've got so many ideas swirling around in my head. Sometimes I feel like it might actually explode because I can't seem to write it all down fast enough.

I'm also playing around with a few other zine ideas. Maybe even some fiction stuff. And I really need to do one about chickens for my husband. It's a weird story... the zine (if I ever make it) will explain it all.

I started adding some scrabble tile pendants to my etsy (zine) shop. I figured they'd fit in better with that shop than with the yarn shop. The pictures aren't the best quality since my digital cameras both suck, but I wanted to get them up. When I get some money I can actually use on something other than bills I'll take decent pics with my 35mm camera. Right now I can't afford to get the film developed so the crappy digital cameras will have to do.

Peace, love, and bunny butts.

Sincerely,
Me

Score!

I found an old Smith-Corona Galaxie typewriter in an antique shop yesterday. It was only $10 so I bought it. The keys are slightly off... the caps are lower than the lowercase letters... but that adds character. I'm using it to type the stuff for my new zine. This one will be a perzine and have several issues.

1st Sale

I sent the first sold copy of the zine to Canada this morning. Someone actually paid for a copy. My husband was impressed. The kids? Not so much. They still thought I should feed them and do their laundry. No star treatment from them. Ingrates.

Must make more zines.

Covert Zine Distributing

Today I took the kids to Borders and left 3 free copies of the zine hidden among the books in 3 different sections of the store. If you happen to find one and you happen to take it home and then you happen to come here (the URL is on the back of the zine) please let me know.

I think I will do something like this every time I publish a new zine.
